NYSC Resumes Arrears Payment to Corps Members, Easing Financial Strain

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has resumed the payment of arrears to corps members, marking the first disbursement since June 3. The arrears cover the new monthly allowance recently approved by the Federal Government for corps members, including those who have already completed their service.

NYSC Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu confirmed that eligible corps members would benefit from the increment in funds released. This move follows frustration over delays in implementing the allowance increase to ease economic hardship for young Nigerians.

The latest payment covers arrears from July 2024 to March 2025, providing much-needed relief to discharged corps members.
