PDP to Proceed with National Convention Despite Court Order

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Nigeria is determined to continue with its national convention scheduled for November 15-16 in Ibadan, Oyo State, despite a court order from the Federal High Court in Abuja. The court restrained the party from conducting the convention, citing alleged breaches of its own rules.

PDP's National Public Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, expressed disappointment in the court's decision but stated that the judgment does not prevent the party from proceeding with the process of electing new national officials. The party intends to appeal the ruling and reaffirms its commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting Nigeria's multi-party democracy.
