PDP Faces Setback as Court Stops National Convention Plans

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) encountered a setback as a court in Abuja halted its national convention scheduled for November 15-16 due to alleged rule breaches. Justice Omotosho directed the PDP to suspend its convention plans and follow statutory procedures.

Despite the court order, the PDP plans to appeal and continue with its convention preparations. The party has been embroiled in internal disputes, with three PDP members from Imo and chairmen from Abia and the South-South alleging constitutional violations in the convention preparations.
