Security Agencies Search Forests After Catholic Students Abduction in Niger State

Security agencies in Niger State are combing forests following the abduction of an unconfirmed number of students from St. Maria's Private Catholic Secondary School in Papiri Agwara Local Government Area.

The Niger State Police Command has deployed tactical units and military personnel to rescue the students. The police commissioner, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, reassured residents of ongoing security operations and urged calm.

Despite the state government's closure order for schools in the area due to security concerns, the school continued academic activities. Investigations are ongoing, and necessary actions will be taken against the school management if needed.
