Nigerian Senate Confirms Three Non-Career Ambassadorial Nominees

The Nigerian Senate has confirmed three non-career ambassadorial nominees, including Lateef Kayode Kolawole from Ogun State, Aminu Muhammad Dalhatu from Jigawa State, and Emmanuel Ayodel Ok CFR from Oyo State. These confirmations follow the consideration and adoption of the report by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs after a screening exercise.

President Tinubu had submitted the names of these nominees on November 26, making it the first list of ambassadorial appointments sent to the National Assembly since assuming office on May 29, 2023. A total of 64 ambassadorial nominees are yet to be confirmed by the Senate.
