Super Falcons vs. Black Queens Friendly Match Canceled

The friendly match between Nigeria's women's national football team, the Super Falcons, and Ghana's women's national football team, the Black Queens, has been officially canceled. The match was originally scheduled for July 18, 2026, in Casablanca, Morocco.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced the cancellation via a statement on their official X account, citing unforeseen circumstances as the reason for the match's cancellation. This friendly was intended to serve as a preparatory fixture ahead of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which begins on July 19, 2026.

The Super Falcons, who have a record of 10 WAFCON titles, will compete in Group B alongside Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana, aiming to reclaim the continental crown. Meanwhile, Ghana has been drawn in Group C, where they will face defending champions South Africa, Mali, and Tanzania.

Neither the NFF nor the Ghana Football Association (GFA) provided additional statements regarding the cancellation, but both teams are expected to continue their preparations for the tournament.
