Tinubu Appoints Shehu Shagari's Nephew as New NIWA Boss in Nigeria's Political Shift

Former President Shehu Shagari's nephew, Mukhtar Shehu Shagari, has been appointed by Bola Tinubu as the new Chairman of the Nation Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), signaling a major shift in the leadership of the agency. Shagari, a former Minister of Water Resources and Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, is expected to bring his administrative strength and technical expertise to improve transportation operations and waterway management nationwide.

The appointment follows the replacement of Hon. Musa Sarkin Adar, who previously held the top position at NIWA.
