JUST IN: Tinubu appoints new officials for varsity governing councils, health sciences university

President Bola Tinubu has made key appointments to various university governing councils, including Chisom Obih as a member of the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ebonyi State council following the death of a previous member. Additionally, Tinubu appointed Ralph Akinfeleye, a communication scholar from the University of Lagos, to the Obafemi Awolowo University council in Osun state.

Akinfeleye replaces Wahab Owokoniran as chairman of the Federal University of Transport in Daura, Katsina state. Ibrahim Yakasai, a retired army colonel and provost of the college of health sciences at Bayero University Kano, was named chairman of the Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology in Tsafe, Zamfara state.

Tinubu also appointed Hamisu Yelwa as registrar, Usman Sanusi as bursar, and Shehu Liman as librarian of the university.
