Tinubu Government Disburses ₦3.9bn Pension Arrears to Retirees

The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has disbursed ₦3.9 billion in pension arrears to 91,146 eligible retirees under the defined benefit scheme. This payment is part of a pension increase package approved by President Bola Tinubu, including a fixed ₦32,000 increase and additional percentage increments.

The PTAD's head of corporate communications, Olugbenga Ajayi, highlighted the government's commitment to settling outstanding pension obligations and improving retirees' welfare. The PTAD is set to implement the new pension increase from September 2025, benefiting over 832,000 pensioners.
