FUOYE VC Selection Process Faces Controversies, Minister Urged to Intervene

Fresh controversies have emerged in the selection process for the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), with claims of rushing the process and imposing preferred candidates. Staff members have accused the university leadership of favoritism and lack of transparency.

The group has called for the intervention of the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, to suspend the ongoing selection process.

The current Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Fasina, and the Chairman of the Governing Council, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, are alleged to be working towards installing a favored candidate. The group insists on a merit-driven recruitment process and urges the Ministry of Education to investigate to ensure due process is followed.
