Tunji Disu Decorated as Acting Inspector General of Police

Tunji Disu arrived at the Presidential Villa for his decoration as the Acting Inspector General of Police. Disu, who previously served as an Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department, was appointed following the resignation of the former IGP.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to convene a meeting to formally consider Disu's appointment as the substantive Inspector General of Police, which will then be forwarded to the Senate for confirmation. The President expressed confidence in Disu's experience and leadership capabilities, emphasizing the need for a steady focus on the Nigeria Police Force during this critical period.

The decoration aligns with the provisions of the Police Act 2020, and the President will shortly convene the Nigeria Police Council for formal consideration of Disu's appointment.
