JUST IN: Two PDP members defect to APC in Ondo

Two members of the Ondo State House Assembly, Felix Afe and Tope Agbulu, have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Afe, representing Akoko 2, and Agbulu, representing Akoko 2, cited irreconcilable differences within the PDP as the reason for their departure.

Afe stated that consulting widely with constituents and key stakeholders led to his decision to join the APC, while Agbulu echoed similar sentiments, calling the APC a viable political platform to serve constituents. The defection increases the APC's strength in the Assembly to 24 out of 26 members, leaving the PDP with only two members.

In other news, the Ondo State House Assembly has urged the state executive council to implement the Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS) for staff, with the Assembly intervening to address the issue. Staff members have been urged to remain patient and prioritize dialogue to achieve.
