Kaduna Electric Reduces Power Supply Due to Gas Constraints

Kaduna Electric issued a statement on Sunday regarding a reduction in power supply across its franchise areas, which include Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara states. The reduction is attributed to gas supply constraints impacting the national grid, resulting in lower power allocation and increased load shedding across the network.

The management of Kaduna Electric emphasized its ongoing efforts to ensure improved power generation and communicated that the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISQ) is actively working with relevant stakeholders in the power sector to enhance gas supply to generation companies. The statement also included an apology to customers for the inconvenience caused by the reduced power supply and expressed gratitude for their patience and understanding as the company continues to stabilize and improve power supply.

This announcement follows a similar notice from Lagos State regarding a scheduled power outage for maintenance work on March 14.
