Kano Appeal Court Demands Evidence in Blasphemy Case

The Kano Appeal Court has mandated Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasir Kabara's legal team to present evidence books that were relied upon during the original trial as part of his appeal against a death sentence. This sentence was handed down by the upper Sharia court located in Kofar Kudu, following a conviction for blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Sheikh Abduljabbar's legal representatives are urging the court to set aside the judgment of the lower court, while the counsel for the Kano State Government is requesting that the court uphold the conviction. Justice Nasir Saminu presided over the matter and directed Abduljabbar's lawyer to produce the books to support their argument during the initial trial.

The court will communicate the date for the judgment of the appeal at a later time.
