Kano State Demolishes Illegal Structures in Sharada Area

The Kano State Government, led by Abduljabar Umar, has taken action against unauthorized constructions in the Sharada area of Gwale Local Government. On Tuesday, Umar warned developers that failure to obtain the required approvals from relevant authorities would result in prosecution.

The demolitions were part of a broader effort to enforce compliance with urban planning regulations, as the state discovered individuals constructing on land designated for recreational use without proper authorization. The State Commission of Land reiterated that such illegal developments violate state urban planning laws.

Umar stated that the government is committed to preserving land for its intended recreational purposes and will continue to monitor the area to prevent further encroachments. He assured residents that the land would be transformed into a recreational center for community benefit, emphasizing that any attempts to convert public space into private commercial ventures would not be tolerated.
