Abba Yusuf Warns Against Selling Empowerment Items in Kano

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf issued a warning on Monday to political appointees and All Progressives Congress officials about the consequences of selling empowerment items meant for constituents. This statement was made during the 12th empowerment program of Senator Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, representing Kano South Senatorial District.
The program involved the distribution of 16 vehicles, 400 motorcycles, and sewing machines to beneficiaries. Yusuf stated, “Whoever sold this intervention will go with his position; I will personally sack him,” stressing that the items were intended for welfare and not for sale.
He encouraged beneficiaries to utilize the items as intended to enhance livelihoods and support small businesses. Yusuf expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects for the 2027 general elections.
At the event, vehicles were given to local government chairmen, while motorcycles were distributed to party executives. Additionally, 200 tailors received sewing machines to aid their businesses.
Sumaila highlighted various developmental initiatives in security, infrastructure, agriculture, education, and healthcare in the district.
