Kano Government Sues Ganduje and Associates Over ₦4.49bn Fraud Allegations

The Kano State Government has taken legal action against ex-Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, his sons, and several associates for an alleged ₦4.49 billion fraud related to the misappropriation of public funds in a dry port project. The lawsuit, filed in October 2025, aims to recover the state's equity in Dala Inland Dry Port Limited.

The defendants are accused of criminal conspiracy, breach of trust, and conflict of interest in transferring public funds to private entities. The prosecution claims the funds were diverted from infrastructure development projects.

Notably, the accused allegedly used shell companies to conceal ownership and benefit private firms.
