Yakasai Warns Tinubu Against One-Party Agenda in Kano

Salihu Tanko Yakasai, a former gubernatorial candidate of the People's Redemption Party (PRP) and ex-media aide to former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has issued a warning to President Bola Tinubu regarding his perceived one-party agenda in Kano State. Yakasai expressed his concerns in a post on Facebook, stating that this approach is a significant miscalculation of Kano's political history, which has been shaped by various political movements, including the defunct Northern Elements Progressive Union (NEPU).

He emphasized that the political landscape in Kano is distinct from that of Lagos and that neglecting the diverse interests of the populace could lead to a lack of public support. Yakasai criticized the alleged lopsidedness in government appointments and development projects, arguing that true loyalty to leadership should be earned through good governance rather than political manipulation.

He concluded by warning that Kano's people must be allowed to express their rights through the ballot box in the upcoming 2027 elections.
