Kano Senator Kawu Sumaila Lists Achievements and Challenges

Sulaiman Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, the Senator representing Kano South senatorial zone, outlined his achievements since assuming office, particularly in sectors such as education, health, and agriculture. Speaking to members of the Correspondents Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists in Kano, he noted that a significant challenge he faced was the lack of effective oversight within the National Assembly.

Sumaila urged the media to engage in more investigative reporting to hold politicians accountable for their commitments. He specifically called on local radio stations in Kano to adhere to professional standards and avoid character assassination for political gain.

The Senator, who represents 16 local government areas, reminded constituents of his promises made on October 10, 2022, regarding social justice and development. He encouraged the public to verify his contributions to security, human development, and legislative progress since his election in 2023.
