NDC Members in Kano Plan to Rejoin APC After Visit

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kano State is poised to lose several prominent members as supporters of Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, the party's Kano Central senatorial candidate, intend to rejoin the All Progressives Congress (APC). This development was revealed after Gawuna's political team visited Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf and Deputy Murtala Garo for consultations regarding their return to the APC.

Gawuna, who served as the Deputy Governor of Kano State under Abdullahi Ganduje, was the APC's governorship candidate in the 2023 election but lost to Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party. The delegation, led by Muhammad Umar, included notable figures such as NDC Vice Chairman Ali Yako and other prominent members.

During the visit, Umar emphasized their commitment to supporting initiatives that advance Kano's development. Ali Yako also expressed solidarity with the Yusuf administration, acknowledging its visible efforts in transforming the state.
