Kano State Intensifies Efforts to Counter Violent Extremism Amid Challenges

Kano State, through the PAVE Network, is ramping up efforts to counter violent extremism, particularly in the face of threats from extremist groups, bandits, and kidnappers. The state government, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, is enhancing security operations and engaging vulnerable communities to tackle banditry and kidnapping.

Initiatives include capacity-building workshops, dialogue platforms, and community resilience campaigns focusing on peace education and conflict awareness. Collaboration among traditional, religious leaders, youth, women groups, and security agencies is emphasized to strengthen peace and resilience against violent extremism.
