Kanu Meets Legal Team Ahead of Defense Opening in Abuja Court

In a legal development, Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), held a private meeting with his legal team led by former Attorney General Kanu Agabi in Abuja. The meeting followed an earlier court order by Justice James Omotosho to grant the defense six consecutive days to present its case.

The defense team raised concerns about DSS monitoring and requested a private session within the courtroom, which was granted. Kanu is expected to begin presenting his defense on October 23 as the trial proceeds.
