Kashere Varsity Appoints Professor Ja'afaru as New Vice-Chancellor in Rigorous Selection Process

Kashere Varsity, under the leadership of Pro-Chancellor Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor William O. Aderounmu, announced the appointment of Professor Ja'afaru as the new Vice-Chancellor.

Professor Ja'afaru defeated 19 candidates in a rigorous selection process held at the university's council chamber. He succeeds Professor Umaru Pate, whose tenure ended in February 2026.

Professor Ja'afaru, a Professor of Environmental Microbiology from the Microbiology Department at Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Adamawa State, will take over the leadership responsibilities. Professor Aderounmu praised Ja'afaru's merit and excellent performance in the selection process, leading to his appointment.

Professor Ibrahim Umar had been serving as the Acting Vice-Chancellor until Professor Ja'afaru's appointment.
