Katsina Governor Radda Commits to Child Welfare and Education

Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda reaffirmed his administration's commitment to child welfare and inclusive education in a statement issued by Chief Press Secretary Ibrahim Moham on Wednesday, commemorating National Children's Day 2026. Radda emphasized that every policy and investment made by the government is designed with the future of children in mind.

He appointed Faruq Umar Lema from Batagarawa Local Government Area as Special Assistant on Children's Affairs to symbolize the administration's commitment to including children's voices in governance. The state has established three multi-million naira model smart secondary schools to provide quality education, particularly for children from poor rural communities, featuring 24-hour electricity, internet connectivity, and artificial intelligence laboratories.

Radda disclosed that 996 students have begun studies at these schools, which follow a transparent admission process. He also highlighted the launch of a safety policy to protect students and teachers from violence and bullying, and announced that the government will absorb examination fees for secondary school students across the state.
