Kebbi Assembly Probes Allegations Against Maiyama LG Chairman for Misconduct

The Kebbi State House of Assembly has commenced a probe into a petition accusing Maiyama Local Government chairman, Adamu Aliyu Liba, of gross misconduct. The petition, submitted by the Maiyama Local Government Progress Union, alleges various wrongdoings, such as the unauthorized sale of council-owned machinery and failure to complete an electricity supply project despite full payment to the contractor.

Speaker Moham Usman Zuru listed multiple allegations against Liba, prompting the House to refer the matter to the Committee on Public Petitions for investigation and further legislative action. Chief Whip Muhammad Sani Garba Tiggi has been tasked with reporting back to the House next week.
