Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris Ensures No Salary Arrears for Workers

On September 30, 2026, Kebbi State Governor Comrade Nasir Idris stated that his administration does not owe any salary arrears, pensions, or gratuities to teachers, workers, or pensioners. Speaking at the 59th (8th Quadrennial) National Conference of Delegates of the Nigeria Union of Teachers in Enugu, Idris highlighted his government's commitment to timely payments and leadership by example.

He reported that over 5,000 professional workers, including teachers and medical personnel, were absorbed into the permanent civil service, and about 6,144 civil servants were recruited to enhance the workforce. Idris underscored the importance of primary education and pledged to elevate the status of teachers, increasing their years of service from 35 to 40.

He also mentioned significant budgetary allocations for educational reforms, including the construction and renovation of over 2,000 schools. The governor expressed his determination to keep children in school and eliminate out-of-school children in Kebbi State.
