New Framework by Ibietan Addresses Insecurity in Agatu

Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan, serving as the Secretary General of the African Public Relations Association and a fellow at the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, has developed a theoretical framework addressing the insecurity crisis in Agatu, Benue State.

This framework, referred to as the "insecurity triad," aims to explain the dynamics of conflict and inform crisis communication research. Ibietan's approach is significant within the African scholarly community, as it seeks to reverse the trend of exporting indigenous theories to a global audience.

Instead, it emphasizes the importance of creating frameworks that accurately reflect African realities, particularly in the context of conflict and governance failures. The framework is designed to be applicable across various conflict environments, providing a portable analytical tool for scholars.

This work represents a critical shift in how African scholars engage with and interpret local issues, moving away from reliance on Western theoretical models.
