Kemi Adeosun Resigns as Minister Amid NYSC Certificate Controversy

Kemi Adeosun, the former Nigerian Minister of Finance, revealed in an interview with Channel TV that she chose to resign and fight the allegations in court rather than continue in her role amidst controversy. Adeosun clarified that she obtained a British citizenship and visa at 22, making her exempt from the mandatory NYSC service in Nigeria.

Despite the sympathy she received from government officials, she decided to step down to seek legal clarity. Adeosun emphasized her compliance with British laws and her subsequent Nigerian citizenship in 1999.
