Nigeria Launches Boeing Training Program to Boost Aviation

On a significant day for Nigeria's aviation sector, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, officially unveiled a Boeing B1 and B2 engine training program at the Aviation Technical Training Institute in Ikeja, Lagos. This initiative aims to strengthen local technical expertise as Nigeria's commercial aviation sector rapidly expands.

The program is particularly timely, coinciding with plans to induct fourteen Boeing 737-800NG aircraft into three major Nigerian carriers: Nigeria Airlines, ValueJet, and Air Peace. During the event, Senior Special Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Direct Investment, Obafemi Bajomo, described the training initiative as a strategic reflection of the federal government's commitment to developing indigenous technical capacity and reducing dependence on foreign maintenance expertise.

The launch is seen as a critical moment for the Nigerian aviation industry.
