Ndume Denies Kidnap Ransom Allegations in TV Interview

Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District, stated in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today that he has never seen N1 billion in cash, responding to allegations made by Samaila Kaigame, the purported leader of Borno South Youth Alliance. Ndume denied claims of receiving ransom money, asserting, “I have said it already.

In my life, I have never seen N1 billion cash, not to talk of N5 billion.” He mentioned that after Kaigame's allegations surfaced, he contacted the National Security Adviser and the Department of State Services (DSS) to address the matter. Ndume called for serious attention to the allegations due to their potential implications for national security, particularly concerning terrorist organizations like ISWAP.

He clarified that he does not support negotiations with Boko Haram or paying ransoms, which he believes triggered the allegations against him.
