Police Launch Search for Kidnapped FUTO Student

Mari Ezinwayi Uzoma, a 100-level microbiology student at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), was reportedly kidnapped along FUTO Ihiagwa Road in the Owerri West Local Government Area. Following the incident, the Imo State Police Command commenced a coordinated search and rescue operation.

Police spokesperson Henri Okoy announced that the Commissioner of Police, Audu Garba Bosso, directed the Anti-Kidnap Unit to take charge of the case as part of proactive measures to ensure the victim's safe rescue and the swift arrest of the perpetrators. The police have mobilized to the scene and are collaborating with local vigilantes to conduct an intensive search in the surrounding bush areas.
