King’s College Parents Protest Proposed School Concession

Parents of King’s College, led by Engineer Oluwaleye Peter, the Chairman of the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA), are contemplating litigation against the federal government regarding a proposed concession of the school. During a meeting, they expressed their discontent, leading to a protest on Lagos Island where parents carried placards with messages such as “King’s College is not for sale” and “Federal Government, we say no to concession.” The protestors declared that the school would not resume on the scheduled date of September 13 unless the federal government responds to their concerns.

Engineer Oluwaleye Peter emphasized that the intention of the old boys' association, KCOBA, to take over the school would negatively impact many children’s education, claiming that KCOBA aims to exploit the institution for profit rather than support its educational mission.
