Kogi Outlines Plans to Make State Farmers  Richer

The Kogi State Government is focused on enhancing the agricultural sector to uplift the livelihoods of farmers. A recent partnership with Lagos State aims to establish a robust food supply chain.

Kogi's Commissioner of Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, highlighted the strategic steps being taken to realize the economic potential of this initiative. Governor Usman Ododo has already begun implementing measures to boost food production, improve infrastructure, and attract investments in the agricultural sector.

The state is aiming to become a leading producer of cassava in Nigeria and West Africa, with a focus on enhancing the value chain. Various programs like RAAMP and ACReSAL are being implemented to improve rural access and resilience in agricultural landscapes.

The Food Lagos Project is not only about food supply to Nigeria's largest city but also about wealth creation and economic empowerment in Kogi State. Fanwo emphasized that the sustained implementation of this partnership will make Kogi farmers richer and the state stronger economically.
