Kogi Police Command Disburses N18m to Families of Deceased Officers

The Kogi State Police Command presented Group Life Assurance cheques totaling N18,186,438.25 to the families of police officers who died in the line of duty. This event occurred at the Kogi State Police Command headquarters in Lokoja, where Commissioner of Police Naziru Kankarofi handed over the cheques on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.

In a statement by Police Public Relations Officer ASP Saliu Afusat, Kankarofi expressed condolences to the bereaved families, acknowledging the sacrifices made by the deceased officers. He stated that while the financial benefits could not replace the lost lives, they were intended to support the families in meeting immediate and future needs.

Kankarofi urged the beneficiaries to use the funds wisely, particularly for the welfare and education of their children and dependents. He reaffirmed the command's commitment to the welfare of police personnel and their families, promising continued support for initiatives assisting officers and families of those who die in service.
