KWAM 1: Nigerian govt names Fuji star airport security ambassador, reduces ban to one month

The Nigerian government has appointed Fuji music star Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, also known as KWAM 1, as an ambassador for proper airport security protocol. This decision comes after the government reduced KWAM 1's flight ban to one month following an incident involving the musician drinking from a flask aboard a ValueJet aircraft.

Minister of Aviation Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo announced the decision, stating that KWAM 1 had shown remorse for his actions. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) also withdrew a criminal complaint lodged against the singer.

The government emphasized that the move was made on compassionate grounds and not due to sentiment or legal opinion. KWAM 1's ban was initially for six months but has now been reduced, with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) working with the musician to ensure proper airport security protocols are followed in the future.
