‘KWAM 1’s Airport Ambassador Role Community Service For Misconduct’, Says Keyamo

Minister of Aviation Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, defended the appointment of Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, also known as KWAM 1, as an ambassador for airport security protocol, stating that the role is a form of community service for past misconduct. Keyamo clarified that the position is voluntary and not a prestigious government appointment, addressing public criticism.

The move follows the suspension of two ValueJet pilots for safety breaches linked to disorderly conduct on a flight involving KWAM 1. Keyamo revealed that the aviation sector is considering a similar role for a passenger, Comfort Emmanson, who was accused of assaulting an airline official.

While the decision has faced scrutiny, Keyamo emphasized the need for a balanced and transparent approach in engaging public figures to promote proper behavior at airports.
