Kwankwaso Accuses Kano Govt of Coercing Officials to Defect Amid Rumors

Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has accused the Kano State Government of pressuring officials, including elected local government chairmen, to sign APC defection forms from the NNPP. The Kano State Government swiftly denied the allegations, claiming the defection plan was voluntary.

The allegations come amidst speculation that Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf may defect to the APC ahead of the 2023 elections. Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, reaffirmed his loyalty to Kwankwaso and the Kwankwasiyya movement.
