Kwankwaso Remains NDC Leader in the North, Says Director

Mr. Osa Director, the National Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), confirmed that former Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso continues to be a national leader and a key figure for the party in the North. In an interview with Nigerian Tribune, Director addressed concerns regarding an alleged internal party hijack and emphasized the NDC's commitment to resolving internal disagreements to prevent member defections.

He announced the formation of a National Reconciliation Committee tasked with addressing grievances among party members and ensuring unity around core values. Director rejected media narratives suggesting Kwankwaso's dominance in Kano State posed a threat to internal democracy, comparing it to President Bola Tinubu's influence in Lagos State.

He stated that the NDC has leaders across the country and that Kwankwaso's political influence should not be limited to Kano. Additionally, Director mentioned that the NDC would adhere to electoral spending laws while accusing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of breaching these rules ahead of elections.
