Kwankwaso Set to Join Nigerian Democratic Congress

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, is preparing to defect to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC). Dr.

Habib Moham, the spokesman for the Kwankwasiyya Movement, confirmed that this decision is aimed at repositioning Kwankwaso as a principal opposition figure ahead of the 2027 general elections. The decision is influenced by concerns regarding potential political and legal traps that could hinder Kwankwaso's participation in the upcoming electoral cycle.

The spokesperson further explained that the NDC is expected to provide a platform that safeguards political rights and ensures democratic participation, especially in light of existing crises affecting other parties. The Kwankwasiyya Movement remains united and committed to the democratic process, urging its members to stay calm and focused while awaiting further directives from their leader.
