Kwara Ex-Lawmaker Defects to PDP, Criticizes APC Governance

Former two-term Kwara State House of Assembly member, Sundai Popoola, has defected from APC to PDP, criticizing Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's handling of insecurity and governance. Popoola's return to PDP is expected to strengthen the party's base for the 2023 elections.

The Kwara State PDP Chairman, Issa Bawa, welcomed Popoola's return, urging other former members to follow suit. In response, Kwara APC downplayed Popoola's exit, stating that his departure will not impact the party significantly.
