Court Affirms Usman-Led Labour Party Executive, Dismisses Abure's Claims

In a legal battle within the Labour Party, Justice Peter Lifu reaffirmed Senator Nenadi Usman's leadership over Abure's faction. The court directed INEC to acknowledge Usman's caretaker committee as the valid representation of the party until the national convention.

This ruling follows a previous Supreme Court decision invalidating Abure's executive committee. The crisis stemmed from leadership disputes within the party, leading to the formation of a caretaker committee to address the vacuum in leadership.

Former Finance Minister Usman was appointed as the chairman of the caretaker committee.
