LACCOSA Celebrates 50 Years with Educational Initiatives

The Lagos City College Old Students’ Association (LACCOSA) is celebrating 50 years since the 1976 set graduated from the institution. At a press conference on October 20, Chairman of the anniversary committee, Dave Nwanze, reaffirmed the association's commitment to educational development through infrastructure provision, scholarships, laboratory rehabilitation, and student mentorship.

The association has supported its alma mater with projects aimed at improving teaching and learning, including providing student desks, water facilities, solar power, and learning equipment. It has also sustained a scholarship program for 40 students sponsored by North American members over the past three to four years.

The association has rehabilitated the school's laboratories and provided essential academic facilities. The anniversary celebrations, themed ‘Uncommon Grace’, are scheduled from October 19 to 24, featuring mentorship lectures, a corporate social responsibility project, and a gala night on October 24 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

The school is also expanding its academic offerings with the establishment of a junior secondary school section.
