Lafarge Expands Production Capacity of Ashaka and Sagamu Cement Plants in Nigeria

Lafarge Africa Plc has increased the production capacity of its Ashaka Cement plant in Gombe State and Sagamu Cement plant in Ogun State from 2.0 million metric tons (MMT) to 3.5 MMT per annum. The expansion includes the installation of two new plants to enhance energy efficiency and meet market demand.

The announcement follows Huaxin Building Materials Group's acquisition of 83.81% of Lafarge Africa Plc. The company's Managing Director and CEO, Lolu Alade Akinyemi, emphasized that the expansion project reflects their confidence in Nigeria's growth and commitment to supporting infrastructure development.

The goal is to strengthen the supply chain, improve responsiveness to market demands, and better support critical sectors like housing, commercial construction, and infrastructure development.
