Ex-PDP Lawmaker Declares 2027 Lagos Governorship Bid on ADC Platform

Naheem Balogun, a former People Democratic Party (PDP) member and ex-House of Representatives candidate in Lagos State, has officially announced his bid for the 2027 governorship election on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform. Balogun emphasized the need for new leadership in Lagos State to tackle the prevailing hardships and stressed the importance of citizen participation in the democratic process.

His declaration comes after Gbadebo Rhode-Vivour, a former Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos State, defected to the ADC in September 2025. Wesley Odeyemi, the ADC chairman in Alimosho Local Government Area, expressed confidence in the party's chances in the upcoming election and pledged full support for Balogun.

Other political aspirants like Dapo Igbasan and Gideon Adeniran also urged party members to remain united for success. Balogun, who hails from Epé Local Government Area, promised to redefine the political landscape of Lagos by offering practical solutions to the state's challenges through inclusive and people-centric leadership.
