Former PDP Candidate Naheem Balogun Joins 2027 Lagos Governorship Race Under ADC

Naheem Balogun, a former People's Democratic Party House of Representatives candidate, has announced his candidacy for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election under the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The declaration was made at a ceremony held at the Echo Event Centre in Egbeda, drawing support from ADC leaders in Alimosho Local Government Area.

Balogun highlighted the challenges faced by Lagos State and Nigeria, stressing the importance of obtaining a permanent voter card for democratic participation. The ADC leadership welcomed strategic collaborations and expressed openness to members from other political parties committed to good governance.

Weslei Odeyemi, the ADC Chairman in Alimosho Local Government, assured Balogun of the party's full support. Other aspirants like Dapo Igbasan and Gideon Adeniran also expressed confidence in the ADC's success in the upcoming election.

The political landscape in Lagos is becoming increasingly competitive, with the recent defection of the Labour Party's 2023 governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhode Vivour, to the ADC.
