Hamzat Denies One-Term Agreement for Lagos 2027 Candidacy

Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the Lagos State Deputy Governor and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 election, has refuted claims that he accepted a one-term agreement to secure the party's ticket, labeling the speculation as unfounded.

He stated that governance should be determined by the democratic process and emphasized his commitment to enhancing the quality of life for Lagos residents through investments in security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, transportation, housing, water supply, and economic development. Hamzat revealed that his manifesto, initially over 500 pages, was condensed after consultations with various stakeholders.

He aims to ensure that at least 60% of Lagos residents have access to running water within two years and plans to enhance security using advanced technology. He also addressed succession politics, asserting a cordial relationship with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and rejected the notion that deputy governors have only ceremonial roles, highlighting his active involvement in governance.
