Dr. Fine Osakwe Wins Cyber Security Leader of the Year 2026

Dr. Fine Osakwe, the Chair of the Lagos State Cybersecurity Advisory Council, has been recognized as the Cyber Security Leader of the Year 2026 at the Global Cyber Awards.

This award, which drew nominations from 50 countries, highlights Osakwe's significant contributions to the cybersecurity field, making him the first Nigerian to receive this prestigious honor. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended Osakwe's achievement, noting it as a testament to Lagos State's commitment to enhancing cybersecurity efforts.

The award aims to recognize individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and contribute to the growth of the cybersecurity industry. Dr.

Osakwe's career began at Deloitte in Lagos, Nigeria, and he has since become a globally recognized figure in cybersecurity. He has played a pivotal role in strengthening cybersecurity governance in Africa's largest digital technology hub and has published guidelines to improve cybersecurity practices among businesses.

His mentorship efforts also focus on developing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
