Happyland Estate Leadership Denies Fraud Claims in Lagos

The leadership of Happyland Estate in Eti Osa, Lagos State, has denied allegations of financial misappropriation amounting to N28.5 million, labeling the claims as misleading and inconsistent with the estate's current financial records. Chairman Hyacinth Ez stated that the estate's finances have grown from N10 million at the start of their tenure in January 2025 to nearly N40 million by April 2026, demonstrating significant improvement under their leadership.

The allegations, which involve senior police authorities including Deputy Inspector General of Police Margaret Ochalla, do not reflect the financial reality within the estate, according to the leadership. They maintain that their operations are transparent, with monthly financial reports and biannual audits confirming no missing funds.

Temitop Akinwand, the financial secretary, and Chinweikp Iwuchukwu, a legal advisor, also dismissed the fraud allegations, warning that unverifiable claims could lead to legal consequences. The leadership urged unity among residents to sustain development and preserve the estate's reputation.
