Lagos Taskforce Denies Land Grabbing Allegations

The Lagos State Taskforce issued a statement on March 20, 2026, refuting allegations of land grabbing that emerged from a viral video. Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, the Director of Public Affairs for the agency, clarified that the Taskforce was not involved in any land dispute but was deployed to maintain law and order due to an ongoing property dispute between two parties, which is under a court order to maintain the status quo pending resolution.

The Taskforce accused one party of violating the court order by forcefully taking control of the property, which escalated tensions. Despite the claims made in the viral video, the Taskforce emphasized that it did not engage in land grabbing and that the video provided no evidence of assault.

The agency criticized the report by Segun Olawoy for lacking proper investigation and warned that misleading reports could undermine efforts to maintain peace. The Taskforce reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing the law impartially and urged the public to disregard the viral claims.
