Lagos Government Seals ShopRite Outlet Over Tax Issues

The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has sealed a ShopRite outlet at Ikeja City Mall for reportedly failing to meet its tax obligations. ShopRite Nigeria has been encountering operational challenges, including store closures in Wuse Abuja and Kano due to financial difficulties.

The company denies plans to exit the country but is restructuring its business model to adapt to the tough economic environment, with 80% of its products now locally sourced.
